5 Tips To Plan The Perfect Bridgerton-Themed Wedding

Bridgerton style is all the rage, with its classy and elegant nature. Read on for stunning Bridgerton-themed wedding tips that will leave everyone, including Lady Whistledown, speechless.

1.  Classic Wedding Invitations

Bridgerton is all about elegance and class. Your wedding invitations should have the same style. Try to incorporate traditional ideas into your invitation; a simplistic design with beautiful cursive font, a timeless portrait of the venue, and a floral envelope liner to establish colors and theme. Seal the envelopes with a custom wax seal to elevate the exterior of the invitation and tie in the classic look.

2. Venue

A beautiful venue is  a must for a Bridgerton-inspired wedding, and there are two ways to go about choosing your wedding venue. The first is an indoor location with stunning architecture that resembles the regency period of England– an elegant staircase for a grand entrance is a necessity. Gorgeous marbling and paintings galore will make you feel like you have stepped into the world of Bridgerton.

The second option has a more whimsical gardenesque feel. Trees surround the venue, English garden landscaping galore, and the perfect amount of outdoor space to fit a friendly game of croquet.. This option presents more freedom with florals and decor. Might we suggest a wedding in our courtyard?

3. Over-the-Top Wedding Florals

Florals are your best friend for a Bridgerton-inspired wedding-they add a timelessness that will pull together the classic theme. HINT: bright flowers with a neutral color-palette will look like a total fairytale.

Traditionally, flowers are in bouquets and centerpieces, but we are taking it to the next level for a Bridgerton wedding. Work with your space and find spaces for an extra pop of florals; think columns, chairs, or really wherever your heart desires. Line your aisle with flower petals for a classic but timeless look. Flowers can shape the entire look of  a wedding–use as many as you can!

4. Regency Era-Inspired Fashion

Bridgerton fashion is regal and classic, which means your wedding attire should be as well. Empire waist gowns are all the rage from this era with a fitted bodice and flowy drapery. Putting bridesmaids in this silhouette will tie in the era perfectly and allow more freedom for your gown.

If you want a Bridgerton feel to your wedding, stay away from trendy dress designs for your ceremony. A simple, traditional gown is always a good idea. Plus, it allows you to look back at your wedding day and lets you fall in love with it all over again–rather than cringing like we do now with the puffy-sleeved wedding gowns of the 1980s. This is your special day, choose the dress that you feel is right. Include fun accessories like white gloves. Ribbons and bows are also true to  Bridgerton fashion, have fun and play around with what you like.

For groom’s fashion that ties into this era, try colors like navy, tan, or green with paisley-patterned ties, shirts, or vests. If you’re feeling a bold fashion statement, a tux with coattails would certainly suit the vibe. Finish the look with chained collar clips, and you’ll look like you’ve stepped right out of the early 1800s.
Don't be afraid to establish a dress code for your guests. Remember, this is your special day, if you want a white tie event, specify that. If you want more of a garden party dress code with a color scheme, say it! The people you have at your wedding will be supportive enough to put aside their favorite neon-colored dress for a neutral outfit that fits your day.

5. Details

Last but not least, the details. This is where your creative freedom and personal style get to go wild. Music is so important for a wedding. To stay on brand with the Bridgerton theme, have a string quartet play classical versions of modern songs. Songs by Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Lizzo are no stranger to the Bridgerton soundtrack, nor should they be a stranger to your wedding.
